Computer Purchase Tips

When buying a computer the is a few things to take into consideration:

1) What do you want to use it for?

It depends on what you want to use if for will depend on the machine you need. Games or high graphics then you will need a higher spec computer. Word Processing/Spreadsheets, Internet Browsing then not so much of a higher spec machine.

2) Do you want a laptop or Desktop PC.

If you wish to travel around the a Laptop will be better for you. If you will not be travelling around there are 2 types of PC's. A Tower or a Desktop. A tower some time can be more easily upgradeable due to the design of the box. But if you are short on space then a desktop is great due to having the monitor sitting on top of the PC box.

3) What sort of price should I spend?

The cheapest computer brand new today start at around £299 inc UK vat. Or $600. Computers at this price are fine if you are after a computer to start with. The more you spend you will get a better specification machine which can allow you to handle more processing power. By this I mean if you wish to play high graphics games or you wish to do video editing etc.

4) What spec of machine should I go for?

It depends on what you wish to do with the computer. If you wish to play high graphics games or video editing, then you will need to spend more. More cheaper computers will be fine for everyday word processing / graphics / scanning printing or Internet Browsing.

Computers today can be purchased easily and most computer shops will be able to tell you if you ask. I personally always buy PC's of the internet due to them being cheaper. But certain shop sometimes offer great deals and if you are uncertain about buying of the internet as you wish to speak to someone personally then a shop will be able to help you.
